Why large print matters
As eyesight changes, small letters and crowded grids cause squinting, eye strain, and mistakes that have nothing to do with the puzzle itself. Large print removes that barrier: bigger characters, fewer of them per page, and more white space let the solver focus on the challenge instead of the typography.
What to look for
- Big, bold characters with high contrast — dark ink on a plain white page.
- Generous spacing between cells and lines, so nothing runs together.
- A smaller grid with fewer items, which keeps the letters large on a normal page.
- Across-and-down words only in a word search — no backwards or diagonal hunting.
